Kent Weinheimer, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon offering expert care for patients at Texas Orthopedic and Hand Specialist in Amarillo, Texas. He takes an active role in orthopedic research, has presented his results nationally, and has been published in the leading orthopedic and hand journals.

Dr. Weinheimer grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas, in a cattle-ranching family. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University in 2007 and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern in 2013. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Pennsylvania State University and his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

With a background in engineering and specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Weinheimer is uniquely qualified to treat an array of orthopedic conditions. In addition to general orthopedic care, he routinely diagnoses and treats patients affected by conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, and rotator cuff tears, among others.

He lives in Amarillo with his wife, Dr. Rachel Weinheimer, an Amarillo native and a colon and rectal surgeon with Texas Oncology. They have three young children, Grace, Jack, and Claire, and are glad to be raising their family in Amarillo.

Dr. Weinheimer serves patients in Amarillo and the greater panhandle area at his practice located at 1600 S Coulter, Building B.
